This is the last one for the summer, don't miss it!
The final event in the @MercedesBenzCLE Summer Concert Series occurred Sunday and we REALLY had a great time! This time, there were eight of us in attendance from 7 to 70-something. Everyone enjoyed the great weather, good food, lively music, refreshing drinks and cool offers from the sponsors as well.
The menu included a variety of build your own sliders with beef, pulled pork and more. There were lots of tasty grilled vegetables too...think Portobello mushrooms, zucchini, red onions etc. and enough custard to cool everyone down after dancing to the music.
After we finished eating, we all split up to check out the giveaway tables @1073TheWave and @KleinhenzJewel. We also took several cool pictures at the photo booth.
Imagine our surprise when my mother was named a winner of a FREE @KleinhenzJewel watch and our astonishment when my pastor and wife were announced as winners of the second prize, a beautiful gold and diamond necklace. #speechless
Needless to say the group was in an excellent mood especially after winning over $1300 in jewelry!!!

I recently attended an Ales on Rails event with aboard the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad (@CVSRR) and was a guest inside their "party car"! I had the change to meet make some new friends while hanging out with my best friend.
They served five courses each paired with a different type of beer to complement the food selection. I'm not a beer drinker so hops, no hops, IPA, etc. is totally meaningless to me but my husband enjoyed it all! I did have a nice cold bottle of Moscato that seems to go well with the spinach dip, hummus, and even dessert :)
The train ride lasted for two hours and along with the food and drink, our car had party lights, lots of upbeat music and even a dancing section! I have been on the @CVSRR before but never in the party car so when they started passing out the glow sticks I knew fun was at the next stop.
These types of events are scheduled throughout the year and the average cost is $50 to $60 dollars per person ( I received a discounted rate of $20 with my group). Our conductor told us that they are already preparing for The Polar Express events which are always fun for the entire family!
Check out a few images below and catch a ride on the @CVSRR if you are ever in the area.
Drinks, food and fun!
Super Saturdays @BeckCenter has become a traditional family summer stop before my son was in pre-school. Now as a second grader, he still enjoys the FREE arts programming offered each year, in fact the whole family does. This past weekend we attended another exciting Super Saturday and I may have actually had more fun than he did :)
We started off by listening to a great concert with other local families but my little one was more interested in getting his hands on the drums afterwards. Once we played a few beats on the percussion instruments we moved on the arts and crafts table where we each made our own marble necklace. I really enjoyed this easy craft and received three compliments on my creation while I ran errands across the city. We also had the opportunity to decorate a few smooth stones that I'm currently using in my office as personalized paperweights. After that we headed outside to visit the foods truck and do some sidewalk art. The time flew by but we came home with some good memories and handmade goodies that we can enjoy well beyond the summer season.
We had a great time at the August event and have invited some close friends and family to join us next time. Check out a few pictures now and leave your comments about the @BeckCenter and your love for the fine arts below.
