VROOM VROOM
Holiday party invitations begin rolling in, for our household, in the month of November. There are always a few events we all agree, as a family, that we must attend. This year, the Porsche party given by @rafih_auto_groupmbno was definitely a GO! Our family has done business with @MercedesBenzCLE for years now and have always enjoyed the events that they put on for their patrons. They have recently changed owners but the new team did not fail to impress with this affair. When we entered there were multiple tables filled with light bites including crudité, meatballs, mini sandwiches, pasta and dessert. Everyone was encouraged to mingle, eat and enjoy complimentary drinks while waiting for the new Porsche 911 to be unveiled. There was an older model of the 911 roped off and on display near by so we would be able to compare the original body with the newest version. We decided to sit next to the classic model while we enjoyed our plates. In addition to the music that played there was an amazing Etch-A-Sketch artist who was creating a picture of the new automobile from a picture. He took time to share his story about art and it's connection with another classic toy, from the Porsche era, with my mini me. After a quick tutorial and words of encouragement my son was ready to shake, rattle and roll! He was even given an Etch-A-Sketch to take home for his efforts. Once our bellies were full and we had the chance to share a few laughs with other attendees it was time for the car to be revealed. There was an introduction video that played so we could learn more about the features of the new Porsche 911 including 450hp! The remainder of the evening was spent enjoying dessert, taking a closer look at the new offerings from Porsche and touring the dealership. We had a fabulous time and will continue to support the @MercedesBenzCLE and @rafih_auto_groupmbno family until our next driver is ready for the road!
VROOM VROOM On our way to our second vacation destination of the summer, we passed an interesting museum in Spartanburg, SC. It was the @BMW Zentrum Museum! The sleek white building stood out in the otherwise green landscape. The museum is free and houses some very unique pieces of luxury vehicles. There were cars from the 1930s up to 2018. There were motorcycles, race cars and even model cars. My favorite car in the museum was a micro car with a single cylinder engine! We were able to sit in a couple of cars as well and there was café and shop on the premises as well. We didn't grab a bite to eat but everyone selected an items to take home as a memento. If you are ever in the area and have time to check out some exclusive cars then stop by.
Earlier this year, I applied to participate in my first blog tour with MomSelect, and was selected to join other members in the second phase of their #AtHomeStores #CollegeMoveIn experience!!! MomSelect provided me with a complimentary $50 gift card courtesy of At Home in exchange for my feedback about the AtHome brand. This was my first time working with both companies so I was really excited to get started :) I had not heard of The Home Décor Superstore before but I really liked the quality of in home and college life products they offer. Especially at the price points that are available both online and in-store, think $10 for pillows, small centerpieces, artwork and more!!! With my sister, two cousins and one of my son's favorite teenagers, from church, all graduating in the Class of 2016, I had quite a roster of scholars to purchase for. Lucky for me they currently are offering come cool items in their 2016 Back to Campus Collection because as they say, "small spaces can have huge style." To help myself and other savvy shoppers At Home even provides a back to campus planning tool, the Campus Checklist. Want your FREE copy? Just click the image below. Armed with my checklist and a few ideas for ways to spruce up my own home, I headed to my local #AtHomeStore and was ecstatic to see they were having a summer sale, offering 50% off summer items in many, if not all departments. SCORE!!! Immediately I went looking for the 2016 Back to Campus collection and found a display featuring the Bold Free Spirit theme, which is one of five offered this year. I like the bright colors and unique looking artwork in this series. It's calming and bold at the same time! If this theme isn't for you consider: Poptastic (a close second favorite), Airscape, Chic Free Spirit or Femme de Luxe (oooo la la)! I made my selections after spending 20 minutes exploring most of the store and only exceeded my complimentary gift card amount by $5. The summer sale really stretched my budget!!! Almost every item I selected was on sale yet the regular price was comparable to similar stores you'd shop for home décor. I think my beloved college graduates will enjoy these #CollegeMoveIn goodies and visit their closest #AtHomeStores for years to come!
