On the first day of March, I attend an event in downtown Cleveland that focused women and promoted their financial and fiscal health. The special celebrity guest and speaker for the event was Actor, Director, Choreographer & Motivational Coach Darrin Henson. The event was sponsored by Magnificent Mommy and a portion of the proceeds went to benefit Restoring the Village, a non-profit organization that promotes holistic health and life achievement in families and communities.
I learned about the "Womanhood, Wellness and Wealth Summit" when I was out shopping and received a flyer, which on a quick scan prompted me to briefly speak with the event planner and hostess, Ericka Abrams. When I got home, I re-read the information provided and called her that night to learn more about her, her vision, the groups she has founded and of course the event. We had a great conversation and I decided that night to attend the event as a VIP guest. Ericka shared there would be a full menu for all guests, complimentary beauty services, speakers in the areas of finances, fitness and fashion as well as a variety of vendors, that motivated me to spread the word.
I attended with a girlfriend and we enjoyed our afternoon with other likeminded women who appreciated beauty, fitness and personal development. While at the women's summit, we had our makeup done by professionals who used products from LaLa's Motive makeup line, received a relaxing chair massage and each of us won a prize plus we were able to meet and talk with Darrin Henson, who gave all the women in attendance words of encouragement. The empowered female speakers we heard from offered fitness tips for women of all shapes and abilities, wise financial advice and assessment s as well as advice for aspiring and current entrepreneurs. I left feeling uplifted and energized!
Ericka mentioned she would like to do this event annually so if you missed this year's inaugural event you can be sure to reserve your seat for next year's summit.
