Last month my family and I released some energy mid-week to attend the @MercedesBenzCLE Spring House. I received an invitation earlier in May and RSVP'd for us despite it being a Wednesday night engagement. I debated on bringing the kid all week but decided in the final hours before the event he was mature and respectful enough to attend. And I am so glad that I did. The event was held outdoors and the Cleveland weather actually cooperated with us. We started by taking a fun family picture at the photo booth which included some regal themed props. The step and repeat was filled with logos from the luxury vehicles the dealership sells. Each of us immediately found the prop that expressed our mood and struck a pose! Once we finished our photo opportunity we strolled over the cigar table where guests received complimentary hand rolled cigars. The guys received a standard cigar while ladies received a slight smaller chocolate flavored stogie. It was now time to find a place to sit before having a drink and bite to eat. There were several selections available in both categories. @EffenVodka provided signature cocktails on the @MercedesBenz end of the property while @MakersMark was featured at the @Maserati_HQ end. We took a look at some of the newer models for @MercedesBenz while we were there. There was a live band jazz which added to the lux atmosphere. The drinks and conversations flowed until the events end. We requested our vehicle from valet relaxed and ready for another Thursday!
Our friends at @Smiley360 just extend an invitation for me to try @_Kathy_Davis_ stationery in their latest campaign. I love sending hand written notes and pieces of mail to friends and family for no reason other than #MakeSomeonesDay. The @_Kathy_Davis_ is a new to me brand, but has been around for more than 25 years, so I am excited to see what it has to offer. Based on the website they create inspirational products that you can send to anyone who needs some extra sunshine in their day. There are lots of floral motifs and bright colored images on their products as well, which I love! I have included the content of my FREE kit below, a discount code for 20% off and some additional information about @_Kathy_Davis_ as well. Once my kit arrives I'll update this post with images, a full review and some feedback from a few recipients of the Tiny Cheers cards! The Trusted Voice of Heartfelt Connection

Raising a child isn't easy. Raising a respectful, thoughtful, considerate child is even harder! Thank God for @ChickfilA and their Kids Club which gives families and parents a platform to instill values that will help to that end. I recently did some research on local and FREE programs that I could enroll my son in that would build character and foster a sense of community. While strolling through the world wide web, I found a @ChickfilA Kids Club in my childhood neighborhood. After reading just a few sentences about the club I registered my son immediately, it was exactly what I wanted him to be a part of. The club meets once a month for a few hours and they discuss topics like: determination, courage, and for February, kindness. My husband and I took our son to his first meeting and were greeted by a friendly and funny cow who gave high fives to everyone at the door. There was also a table filled with markers, crayons and coloring sheets for club members to use to create a letter and send a gift as an act of kindness. We also saw a balloon artist there making FREE goodies for attendees as well and, of course, the full menu of @ChickfilA was available for purchase while the meeting ran ;) Before we left, my little one received a Passport to track his attendance for each meeting he goes to. The passport also included the @ChickfilA Kids Club pledge, which he will memorize (with my help and encouragement). He also received a coloring sheet that included a thank you note to someone special that has shown him kindness consistently, they even provide a SASE so the certificate and gift card could be mailed to the recipient.
We all thoroughly enjoyed this event are looking forward to attending next month. If you are interested in participating they offer the club nationally, simply select the location you'd like to join online at their website. If you are in the Cleveland area I've included the contact information for the Richmond location below. Thank you @ChickfilA and Mr. Doss, for being a valuable contributor to my community and family! A good girlfriend of mine offered my family passes to attend a FREE advance screening of the #PeterRabbitMovie with @JKCorden as voice for the film's namesake. She wasn't able to take her little guy, as they had a prior event scheduled, so we happily accepted...and I am SO GLAD we did. OMG! What a great family movie!!! No seriously you'll love it. We all know the story of Peter Rabbit from childhood so there are no spoiler alerts to worry about (exhale), what I loved about the film is the way the story of "old" was brought into my son's era yet still maintained the key elements from previous generations. The Cleveland showing highlighted literacy and combine the screening with a book drive a loads of kid friendly activities and goodies. Before we even entered the theater, we were greeted with a Peter Rabbit display, complete with a balloon artist, posters, and much more! They really rolled out the red carpet for the children in the community and bought the inner child out of a few parents as well. My little guy was the second child in line and spun the prize wheel to determine what he'd be going home with. We didn't get to see all of the options but knew any prize would be awesome. He spun and landed on......Carrots! His prizes were a Peter Rabbit T-Shirt, a Peter Rabbit coloring sheet, paper Peter Rabbit ears and a movie poster. We grabbed a few snacks from the concession stand before the film started and right before the lights dimmed our balloon rabbit wanted a mini photo shoot so we indulged him ;)
The #PeterRabbitMovie opens this weekend and is worth viewing. Young in age and young at heart alike will enjoy this classic tale. In honor of Black History Month I'm going to participate in a few local events hosted by the Greater Cleveland Urban Film Festival (@GCUFF). The first of these events is a FREE screening of the film, Marshall featuring @ChadwickBoseman. Although the film was released late last year, this screening will include a Q&A session with Jonathan Sanger an Academy Award winning producer. I'm looking forward to this screening and would encourage you to attend if you're in the area, even if you've already seen the film ;) Details for the event are listed below, I'll be posting more about this screening around mid-February. If you've seen the film drop a comment now or if you have questions you would like answered leave them below! I came, I saw, Thurgood Marshall conquered! I did not see this remarkable film when it opened in theaters but I’m so glad I had the opportunity to attend this FREE viewing for black history month thanks to @GCUFF! I attended this screening with my friend and sister in Christ who had not seen the movie either. We laughed, sighed and almost cried while watching with famed producer Jonathan Sanger, who sat two seats away from us. When the film was over Mr. Sanger graciously took questions from the moderator and the audience, including mine 😇
I asked for his thoughts about the soundtrack song, #StandUpforSomething by Andra Day featuring @Common. He shared the story of how @Common came to join the project. Apparently, @AndraDayMusic reached out to lend her voice to a track for the film and due to her notable accomplishments (Grammy nominated singer and songwriter) was told they couldn’t afford to pay her what she was worth. She was so passionate about contributing to the film that she volunteered, can you say #blackgirlmajic!?!?! Once her mission began, @AndraDayMusic was on a flight with @Common and he inquired about what she was working on. After learning more he asked to add a verse and their collaboration commenced. The rest is truly black history! The song has been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original song. If you haven’t heard the song, the least you can do, is Google the lyrics. You’ll feel inspired and empowered by the end of your journey. The Academy Awards ceremony is this Sunday, March 4 and I personally can’t wait to hear they’ve won. I truly enjoyed my celebration of BHM 2018 with Mr. Sanger, @GCUFF, my church chica and the Marshall movie. Leave your our comments about the film and soundtrack below and leave a Like too (it’s free;) |
