FINAL UPDATE: I received my Jimmy Dean frozen foods kit late last month and headed to my local grocery store to give them a try. I was able to find them in the frozen food section but not easily since they were not in the entree section but next to the frozen pizzas. I did see the breakfast options in the first place I would think to look but perhaps my grocer feels this is more of a snack food than a meal.... and although Jimmy Dean offers over 10 varieties for their lunch and dinner meals I was only able to find two. I'm hopeful that once these products are on the market for a while all options will be available. Just to satisfy my own curiousity I may see if a big box chain has more selections.
For my product testing I grabbed boxes of the Hickory Smoked Turkey Breast and the Smoked Sausage sandwiches. My kit included coupons for two FREE products but I was so pleasantly surprised at the price point of these meals I grabbed three. The Hickory Smoked Turkey Breast contains two mini (but filling) sandwiches and the Smoked Sausage has one, both were priced at $2.99, with the remaining coupons in my kit taking $1 off it was a great deal.
When I tried the Hickory Smoked Turkey Breast sandwiches I was worried that the bread my be too chewy since you have to microwave them but they were really soft. I could really taste the sweetness of the honey wheat bun and there were generous amounts of turkey, applewood smoked bacon and sharp cheddar cheese. My only complaint is about the quality of bacon on this sandwich, it was not very meaty and had lots of fat. The Smoked Sausage sandwich was tasty and filling...perfect for either lunch or dinner.
Overall I would say Jimmy Dean's new products are a good meal/snack at a good value!

Update: As promised, I received my Jimmy Dean kit this week and wanted to share the news (and a pic) with you! I'm headed to my local grocery store soon to see which Jimmy Dean frozen food product would make the best lunch and dinner option for this sampling. I'm thinking I'll try a bowl entree and the sandwich meal so I can experience the best of both worlds :) I will also be giving out coupons so you can get in on this offer as well. I just received and accepted an invite from our friends at Bzz to try something brand new from Jimmy Dean's frozen food line. They are now offering flavorful bowl and sandwich entrees perfect for lunch or dinner. The list of over 10 meals includes: Smoked Bacon Mac & Cheese, Grilled Steak and Pulled Pork.
