My husband wanted to be the first one to use this product and washed a load of color clothes for the family. The scent when you open the bottle is pleasant and not overwhelming. The fragrance persists during the wash cycle and got slightly more noticeable. Once the clothes were out of the dryer was scent lessened but was lightly lingering. It passed the scent test for me. I usually use a fabric softener and scent booster to ensure we have fresh smelling clothes days after they have been folded. Arm & Hammer's liquid detergent leaves a scent that remains three days later.
In terms of effectiveness, this detergent performs as well as a standard liquid detergent. The load of colored clothes we washed were satisfactorily cleaned and there was peace of mind knowing there were would be no skin irritations for my family.
