To start, Saks offered a "spend$some get$some" promotion on Friday and Saturday where you could earn up to 23% of what you spent on those days in gift cards to the store. Imagine the goodies you could enjoy with a $700 Saks Fifth Avenue gift card! I'll wait....
For the duration of the entire event, they also have exclusive Saks gifts with any beauty or fragrance purchase, that include a tote bag, in your choice of white, navy or olive, filled with beauty and skincare samples at the base level plus a matching cosmetics case at the highest level.
In addition to that goodness brands like; Clinque, Nars, Giorgio Armani, Bobbi Brown and Yves Saint Laurent had their own signature gift sets with purchase. Spoiler Alert: If you were to get just $150 worth of Giorgio Armani products you would also get the Saks tote filled with beauty and skincare samples & a five piece Giorgio beauty set (parfum, lipstick, mascara...) and a Giorgio Armani clutch/cosmetics case. Needless to say SFA Beauty Week is a "must do" for beauty junkies like myself across the globe ;)
I began my adventues by visiting my the gurus at Chanel, my personal skincare brand. There I was greeted by the manager, who shamefully knows me by my full name and the make-up artist who gave me my first introduction to the line over five years ago. I was taken to the staged make-up area without waiting to have my eyes done. The smoky eye was the signature look they were highlighting for the weekend only. I was offered a complimentary bottle of SFA water while Mrs. K worked her magic. After discussing our families, LeBron's return and a new high end apartment building specializing in "concierge living" (more in a future blog) I was ready to face the floor looking "gorge" to quote a passerby.
There was Teavana's Coco Caramel Sea Salt tea, scones, cookies and more along with FREE Jo Malone hand & arm massages. My "masseuse" used the Wild Bluebell hand and body cream and layered it with the Blackberry and Bay cologne. It was a sweet and spicy combo...the Wild Bluebell is floral and soft while the pepper in the Blackberry and Bay added a kick :)
I came in to get a hand and body wash that I had received as a sample from a previous purchase and was suprised to learn Jo has colored a few of her bath products. I was looking for a clear to light yellow body wash and was presented with a bright orange wash with the same label. I had to do a double take and asked the sales rep to check and see if I was thinking of the body oil instead. I wasn't... the look had just changed, and Wild Bluebell isn't the only product. Red Roses (my all time favorite) has a lavender colored body wash now AND they now offer a bar soap in the English Pear and Freesia scent.
