Before I met Jo I was familiar with unisex scents, like cK1, and even the idea of layering (we will discuss later) but this idea of blending scents was brand new to me. Using more than one bottle to create a signature scent was exciting but I was skeptical about smelling like a 5 year old girl playing in her mommy's closet.
I needed more information before committing, so I signed up to attend a FREE Master Class. In this class you gain access to a Jo Malone specialist who introduces you to the basics of Jo, the idea of blending, and iconic & new products hitting the market all while taking your questions along the way. It's a hands on experience, literally, there are hand and arm massages!
Saks Fifth Avenue is the luxe venue to get your first taste of Jo Malone London. Their scent themed classes in the recent past have come complete with wine, champagne, pastries, caviar, Sushi Rock, gift cards and much more. My favorite Master Class was for the launching of Blackberries and Bay. Guests received champagne and chocolate torts topped with fresh blackberries while mingling with the staff and other patrons. The S.W.A.G. (stuff we all get ;) included a miniature jar of blackberry jam, Jo Malone samples of the scent, mini body creams, Jo Malone pencils, Saks ink pens and a bottle water.
There was also a three piece gift set FREE with purchase.
Jo takes the hard work out of getting started by providing combinations to try depending on the types of scents you like. I'm a clean/floral chica with light musk tendencies. Men can find something too, try a musk or woodsy scent or even pepper & leather/suede. You'll discover a base to create a mature scent and I promise you won't be that 5 year old pretending to be grown up.
